GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE AREA
Lanin National Park was created in 1937 in order to protect a representative of the North Andean-Patagonian forest species such as the monkey puzzle tree houses, the evergreen beech and oak pellín-that in Argentina only found in a small area of the Andes Neuquen.
It has an area of 412,000 hectares and is located in the southwest of the province of Neuquén. Lanin National Park belongs to the forest eco-regions and Patagonian steppe and High Andes.
